The 2018 - 2019 Season

The 2018/2019 Season promises another fine concert series with first class players from across Europe
performing varied and enjoyable programmes.

The opening of our season suffered a blip when, at the last minute, we had to postpone the October concert by the Jubilee String Quartet due to an injury to Julia Loucks, second violin. We are very pleased to say that she will make a full recovery and the concert is rescheduled for the end of March. We were able to contact nearly all our audience members to let them know, though about a dozen did make wasted journeys for which we apologise.

As a result of that, our season now opens in November with the third visit to Darlington of the celebrated pianist Olga Stezhko who is joined, especially for us, by the dazzling soprano Raphaela Papadakis in what promises to be a super concert.

2019 begins with a wonderful wind ensemble, Trio Volant and Leanne Cody, piano.

In February Emmanuel Bach, the brilliant young violinist comes to Darlington and for our March concert, many will remember the Kammerphilharmonie Europa who gave us a great performance in 2014. The Jubilee Quartet now appear at the end of March.

Our season ends in April with the impressive cellist Yoanna Prodanova, accompanied by pianist Mihai Ritivoiu.
